Grab a pen for the next Scribbling Circle
We're getting together to take a closer look.
Hey Scribbler,
A few weeks ago, I wrote about point of view and shared photos from my photography practice—a series of portraits of my Aunt Jo (Treva Jo Marcus). If you missed it, you can read that post here.
I ended with the question: Who are the women in your family who deserve a closer look?
So, I want to encourage you this week to do a timed freewrite using that prompt. (Bonus points if you read it out loud to yourself SLOWLY. )
Light a candle and create the right feeling tone for yourself.
Create a quiet, safe space to explore whoever comes to mind without feeling like you have to live up to anyone else’s expectations or that you’ll hurt someone’s feelings.
It doesn’t have to be material to share or use later. Examining your state of mind and your point of view is enough.
Because that’s all it takes to shift it and make room for a different perspective.
And sometimes, that’s all we’re meant to do.
Here are the deets for the March Scribbling Circle:
Sunday, March 31st at 3 pm-4:30 pm PST / 5:00 pm-6:30 pm CST
Here’s the link to join, and you’ll get a reminder email that day!
Stay creative,
Jen
P.S. and I have a date on the calendar for the next Austin Writers Meet-Up!
🍷 April 19th at OPA! Coffee & Wine on S Lamar Blvd. ☕
Pssst…pass it on to any writers you know in the area! ✍️
📢 You can RSVP here!
Thank you for taking the lead on the creative and registration. I've dropping balls left and right lately, a sure sign it's time to slow down and reprioritize.
