⛱️ summer survival mode (and newsletter ideas that don't require a PhD)
I'm already tired and summer just started—how are you managing it all?
Hey there,
So summer is officially here, and I'm wondering where exactly those lazy beach days I was promised are?
You know, the ones where you're supposed to curl up with a great book while sipping something cold?
Because right now, between work demands, summer travel, and trying to write a newsletter without completely disconnecting from reality, I'm feeling like I’m barely keeping my head above water.
Add kids or a book project to the mix, and honestly, I don't know how you're managing it all. (I don't have either of those energy vampires, and I'm already waking up tired.)
I wish I could send you a virtual Mary Poppins to handle meal planning and grocery runs—anything to carve out actual pockets of time for your writing. But since my magical assistant budget is currently zero dollars, let me offer the next best thing.
What if we all made this summer a collaborative, low-lift season?
You tell me what would actually help you stay connected to your writing goals, and I'll focus on delivering exactly that. No guilt-inducing long-form emails about productivity hacks you'll never use.
💡 Think: quick wins that spark ideas for your own newsletter when summer chaos is in full swing.
I created this poll to get us started:
Here’s how you can send me your ideas so I can help you out this summer:
⬇️ If you’re on the Substack App or platform, click the poll or leave a comment below.
📩 If you’re reading this in your inbox, hit reply and tell me your ideas!
If you haven’t noticed, Friday is my new Monday this week. 😂
You may see the newsletter on different days of the week this summer, but it’ll be in your inbox one way or another. We’ll get through this together — pinky swear.
Stay cool (literally and figuratively),
P.S. Had to share this sweet quote from a new paid subscriber and coaching client, Eleanor Shannon! This summer, we’re working on her Substack, Time to Put Yourself First – and women are going swoon. (🤒 Does the word “swoon” date me much??)
🔥
I felt all of this. I'm not technically drowning in work buy I'm drowning in general lol. This weekend is nuts with "other" commitments, making it very difficult to sit down and write.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one.
