I don't know about anyone else, but I just exhaled with the zen of a giant turtle sunning itself on a beach after reading this 🐢

I hereby second this emotion and cosign this message!!!

Maybe I should create that image in Canva or using AI and use it for a future post? Got any more ideas?...

Wendy, it's my go-to - and I have a couple places that make them better than anywhere else. Do you have a go-to drink?

Thank you Jen! Omission—you actually spent yesterday behind on finishing this post because you spent the afternoon hanging with a fellow former San Francisco friend (me! I have photos to prove it) in SF’s beautiful Presidio. Also giving everyone (including me) permission to prioritize IRL connecting—and summer is the perfect time for that. If that is the reason for your newsletter “inconsistency,” here’s to THAT!

That was so FUN. And I loved meeting Amanda! I had my new favorite lap top with me and I didn't crack it open all day!! And it's taken me another full day to answer these lovely comments. It's important to juggle the meaningful time connecting with people you love with being online. Something's gotta give, and it's all ok. The internet will still be here...

This was perfectly timed for me as I just sent out an email to all my subscribers informing them that I am stopping paid subscriptions with the intention of writing what I want, when I want instead of hemming myself in with writing to a schedule. It brought such a sigh of relief. I feel good in this decision. Your post was just extra confirmation that I did what is best.

Caitlin, you have like 5 Substacks??! You definitely need to take some time off during the summer. How do you keep up with those?

So happy to be your confirmation from the universe it's time to slow down.

I have been writing my newsletter for so long that it doesn't stress me out. I actually look forward to writing them each week (twice a week on Substack and once a week to promote my offerings to my email list). Apparently I am in the minority. When I do feel overwhelmed, I will re-release something I wrote before. I have so much content that not everyone has read everything (except maybe my Dad). I make it better then put it out. Giving myself permission to do that has made a huge difference for me and has taken the pressure off of having to do something new each week, even though most of the time I do write something new.

Janine, that's such a nice season of life to be in with your writing. There have definitely been times that's been the case for me. I've learned (as I'm sure you have) our creativity and our consistency work in seasons, and sometimes life be lifein' and it's harder to get writin' 😅

And I'm super impressed if you Dad has read everything:) 💗

Thank you Jen, I really resonate with second-guessing if I will pull off my writing every single week. It is a big sigh of relief as @Kristi Keller notes to have this great permission to enjoy summer and truly consider if I’m connecting authentically 😎

Hey Beverley - if this post was a big sigh of relief for you that's a sign. You have permission if enjoying this summer doesn't include writing every week. It'll a cycle. Embrace where you are. So happy you're here reading and talking about what's going on for you!
