I subscribe to someone who reviews TV shows and movies. I'd been commenting so much on her posts that I guess she decided to check me out and decided to subscribe. And then ended up posting a Note that it was the best welcome email ever. LOL *buffs nails on my shoulder*. Guess I nailed it. LOL
BWAHA! You're too kind. Gotta love Bitmoji. I use them when I text, and I thought it would be cool to use them in my posts. You can say so much with the images! LOL
I actually just replied last week for the first time to a welcome email. She said she responds to all replies and I think that was the important part. When people ask you to engage, and then you do and it’s crickets…you’re less likely to do so again in the future.
That's so true. It's actually my favorite part. As you can tell, I'm a little slow with this response but it's been on my mind for days! 😅 I so appreciate your comments.
I'm glad it's helpful, Corrine. It's one of those things that so many people overlook but it makes a difference when you put some effort and thought into delighting and surprising your reader. It sets the tone of what they can expect.
Hey Kat! We'll pull it all together on your Substack. I've got two video interviews under my belt, and I just sent the first one out. 🤞 Fingers crossed. But we all had fun.
Jen, Great Post. You are really offering great tips. One of these days, if my courage steps up to write on Substack, it will be because of you and @RohiniChowdhury who writes Eaten Like a Fish.
Jen this is so good....of course, it led me to go back and make a few changes! Whenever you think you are done, you never are--there are so many generously shared tips and ideas out here in Substack land!

Well, now you got me interested! I HAVE to subscribe Ororo! I'll be in touch 😂
Bwaha! Well, if that's the way to get people to subscribe... I should post that testimonial somewhere. LOL Thanks for subscribing.
OMG Onoro 😂😂😂. I subscribed. I LOVE it. So good. I think it's the images of you too... I'm using it in the next revision of this!
See it matters - people totally notice when you surprise and delight them. SO AWESOME.

Jen, this is brilliant advice! If I was a copy coach instead of a VA, this would be my #1 tip for Substackers.
I saw you quietly nodding your head in my workshop the minute I told everyone to STOP IGNORING your welcome emails 🤣
Hey! Just seeing this now...thanks for the great comment. Maybe we'll talk about this a bit on our Substack Live in May.
Definitely! I assume you're taking notes here lol
I love the idea of asking subscribers to reply to the welcome email. I’m going to tinker with mine! Thank you for all these amazing tips
Thank you so much for the inspiration! (And patience with my slow commenting skills! 😅

Hey Henny,
That's so true. It's actually my favorite part. As you can tell, I'm a little slow with this response but it's been on my mind for days! 😅 I so appreciate your comments.
Hi Jen. You inspired me to revamp my entire welcome letter. I liked it so much. I sent it as a post to all my readers. I’d love your opinion on it.
Ami! I love that. I'd love to check it out. And I'm going to use your comment here in other places. Thank you!
It’s floating around notes. It’s entitled A Proper Welcome. 🤗
This is helpful. I'm launching a new publication and will take your advice into account. I'm off to ponder the welcome email now. Thanks1

Jen, I look forward to working with you as we do emergency surgery on my Substack. And the live interviews sound daring and fun!

Very Cool! I want to learn more about the live videos so I'll check it out.
Sounds good! 👍🏻 It was fun.
This was brilliant. Thank you!
So glad you liked it Jenn Sharp 🙏🏻
